My options seem to be to send it away for data recovery or get a replacement. It is a portable drive, so no power cable. The drive still lights up and powers up when attached to the laptop. When I go through the seagate troubleshooter it ends up telling me to send it to them for data recovery. I have tried on other PCs, have changed the cable, tried multiple usb ports but it is not being detected anywhere.

I ran driver boost and it was detected but it stated it used a system driver so did not flag up any errors Now the drive is not even being detected at all. I was then unable to view files on my external drive but could still see the folders. (while I was formatting the internal drive I think a message came up about formatting the external.or deleting the recycle bin, im not sure what it said but I cancelled Recently my d drive (internal data) malfunctioned and I eventually had to format it.
